Woamy Wins Public Choice Award for Wood-Based Foam at Uusi Puu Competition

On October 25, 2024, Woamy Biofoam was awarded the public choice prize at the Uusi Puu competition during the Forest Days event. Their wood-based foam innovation captivated the audience, showcasing the vast potential of sustainable materials. Developed in collaboration with Aalto University, Woamy’s plastic-free packaging foam was used to produce a visually appealing packaging solution for premium whiskey glasses embossed with a tailored pattern and impregnated with an appropriate scent. VTT Senior Researcher Johanna Lahti, Chair of the Uusi Puu initiative, praised the competition for spotlighting versatile wood-based solutions.
