About the Event
Harnessing the sustainability and economic potential of integrated biorefineries through computer aided process engineering with Marie Jones
Warmly welcome to our webinar "Harnessing the sustainability and economic potential of integrated biorefineries through computer aided process engineering". During this webinar, Marie Jones from the EFPL, will discuss the techno-economic assessment (TEA) of biorefinery processes.

Speaker
Marie Jones is a final year PhD student at EPFL, Switzerland, working under the supervision of Prof Jeremy Luterbacher and Prof François Maréchal. Her research interests encompass sustainable process design, techno-economic and life-cycle analysis of novel biomass conversion technologies. She is passionate about using her modelling skills to inform decision makers towards the implementation of a circular biobased economy. Prior to joining EPFL as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow, Marie obtained her Master’s in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, UK.
Webinar is scheduled for Friday, March 21st from 11.00 - 12.15 EET.
This webinar is part one of the FinnCERES webinar series on LCA and TEA of biomaterials. Note: register separately for each of the three webinars!
Join the Journey to Sustainable Innovation: FinnCERES Webinar Series on Techno-Economic Assessment and Life-Cycle Analysis
We are pleased to invite you to a focused and informative three-part webinar series presented by FinnCERES, dedicated to Techno-Economic Assessment (TEA) and Life-Cycle Analysis (LCA) of biomaterials.
In a time when sustainability is crucial, this series aims to provide researchers and industry professionals with the essential knowledge and tools to advance innovation in the field of bio-based materials. These webinars will cover foundational methodologies, core principles, and practical applications of TEA and LCA, helping you to evaluate and improve the economic viability and environmental impact of cutting-edge biomaterials.
Throughout the series, you will hear from a panel of distinguished experts, including Alessandro Marson from the University of Padova, Marie Jones from EPFL, and Maurizio Bettiga, Jorge Benavides, and Maria Ciotti from Italbiotec Srl. Each speaker will share their specialized knowledge, case studies, and perspectives, offering valuable insights and fostering constructive discussions.
This series is designed to benefit both experienced researchers and those new to the field of bio-based materials. By participating, you will gain a deeper understanding and practical knowledge that can be applied to your ongoing and future projects.
We look forward to your participation in this valuable learning opportunity. Register now to secure your place in the FinnCERES series on TEA and LCA of biomaterials.
