The growing global population is triggering an increase in the consumption of textiles. Already at this moment, the textile sector is one of the biggest polluters and there is an urgency to develop sustainable circular textile solutions - from raw materials to the product end-of-life. One alternative is wood-based textiles, which could generate important new business opportunities for the forest sector.

Japan and Finland have a long tradition in research and business co-operation in the field of forest bioeconomy and bio-based products. Besides, our countries have complementary knowledge, know-how, and both industrial and commercial value chain in using forests, wood and creating sustainable textiles.

To support and intensify research and innovation co-operation between Japan and Finland, Business Finland, FinnCERES with Japanese partner Ciriot Inc., and UNITE has jointly organized:

イベントについて

近年の世界人口の増加に伴い、繊維製品の消費量は増加の一途を辿っています。そのような状況のなか、繊維産業は現代の重大な環境汚染源の一つとされており、繊維製品の原材料から廃棄の段階まで、持続可能な循環型システムの開発が急務となります。この解決策の一つが、木材を原料とした繊維です。このアイデアは、森林産業に新たなビジネスチャンスをもたらす可能性を持っています。

日本とフィンランドは、森林バイオエコノミーとバイオベース製品の分野での研究とビジネスにおいて、長きにわたり協力関係を築いてきました。そして両国は、森林と木材の利用や持続可能なテキスタイル製品の開発において、産業、商業の両面で補完し合う知識やノウハウを有しています。

つきましては、このたび、フィンランド大使館商務部(ビジネス・フィンランド 東京事務所)、FinnCERES ＆日本パートナー Ciriot Inc. およびUNITEが主催となり、日本とフィンランドの研究・イノベーション協力を支援、強化するイベントを共同で開催いたしました。
